Working on my truck again
Article Entry Date: February 8,2022
I have had this 83 Ford Ranger since my brother gave it to me around 99/2000. Unfortunately, the motor wiring caught on fire a year later, and two years after that, I purchased a 95 4.0 motor and 5-speed transmission for it. (Too much motor for the truck, very dangerous in the rain, and don't get me started about trying to drive it in the snow)
My brother put the motor and trans in the truck, and my father spent several months wiring it up to the 83 Ranger.

So far, I've had to do more wiring to the truck's motor to keep it running or make it start. And then it had an issue where it did not want to stay running at all.

    Following items have been replaced over the last few years.
  1. Replaced seats with a 96 Ranger. (2000)
  2. Brake Booster (12/17/2013)
  3. Gas tank (2014)
  4. Fuel Pump/Filter/Float (2014)
  5. Replaced 02 Sensor for Upstream Bank 2 (Passenger side) (04/02/2014)
  6. Weather Stripping around both driver and passenger door windows. (12/05/2014)
  7. Installed Toggle Switch For Idle Air Control Shutoff (RPM's running high all the time) (05/16/2015)
  8. Wired an Ignition Start Button to the dash. (Wiring issue steering column for the ignition switch) (05/29/2016)
  9. New Brakes Shoes, Rotors, and Pads (09/07/2021)
  10. Replaced Dimmer Switch (Turning Signal Switch on Steering Column) (11/11/2021)
  11. Rear Turning Signal Lamp Sockets and new light bulbs (11/11/2021)
  12. Re-wired back brakes, turning signal, and parking brakes. (Had to run a wire from the steering column to the back to connect to the turning signal, which fixed the rear lights (12/05/2021).
  13. Installed and wired two LED lights to the back with a toggle on/off switch under the dash for backup light. (12/05/2021)
  14. New Blower Motor (Original motor was burning up) (01/28/2022)
  15. Blower Motor Resister (Original was burning up) (02/01/2022)
  16. Replace 02 Sensor's for Downstream and Upstream Bank 1 (Driver Side) (01/21/2022)
  17. (Currently) Replacing Seals in the gearbox Lower Pitman Shaft (Powersteering fluid leaking) (02/08/2022) (Waiting on Snapring Pliers to arrive tomorrow to finish the work, and will then update this part.

Still having issues with the heater, not sure if an air leak or the rubber hose coming from the blower motor to the firewall is not allowing the heat to come back into the vents. This issue has to be fixed for me to drive this truck when it's cold. I think I will remove the rubber hose and take it tomorrow to Lowes Hardware and see if I can find some small plastic conduit. I can then cut the rubber hose, fit it around the plastic conduit, and give it a better airflow than what it has. I will post back to this blog article when completed, which I am going outside now to remove the rubber hose from the truck, as I am going to town tomorrow for Doctor appointments for my mother. Fingers crossed.

I enjoyed writing about all this. It gives me a permanent record of everything I've done to the truck up to this point. When I do something else, I will add that in as well. Always good to have a timeline.

Second Novel

I am working on the new book, and I still have not come up with a title for it yet.
So far.

Completed Chapter 25 out of 32.
words = 62,395
Pages = 273

I was hoping for 100,000 words, but not sure if I will make that goal or not. Then again, I still have 7+ chapters to go. Then I will start the actual editing, which will be very time-consumin...Continue reading...

Web Design

I have been meaning to do this for a while and finally got it done.
Now, visitors to the Blog will navigate from one Blog entry to the next. Hopefully, this should make it easier and friendlier for people visiting the site.

A few years ago, I designed the script for my Video Lesson site, https://www.darkeffects.com. It is a simple yet powerful script.

Enough of the technical stuff.

Gwother's farm yard friends - Poor little chicken (Story #1)

Short Funny Stories

Back many years ago, before I was even thought of, there was a young girl who loved going out playing with her pigs, chickens, and cows, and one day, while out playing, one of the cows came up to her about a chicken who had broken its foot. She rushed over to the chicken and noticed the poor little creature was surrounded by all the pigs, cows, and, of course, its chicken family.
